When puberty hits the fan a lot in the body changes. Both mentally and physically. Along with those changes, I developed epilepsy, a chronic seizure disorder. Initial diagnosis was that I have complex partial seizures. Completely unexpected. Over the years it blossomed so I have had many more types of seizures. I had to learn my triggers and try to avoid them. Number 1 trigger across the board is elevated stress so when situations are getting hot, I know that I have to step back from the toxicity and calm down. It's when one has to weigh out the question; is this stressor worth the seizure and it's aftermath? This sometimes comes off as being weak, a pushover almost, that couldn't be any further than the truth. Protecting oneself from an unnecessary seizure is more than logical. That, like many aspects of living with epilepsy is not by choice. Naturally you will want to do all things possible to keep the seizures to the minimum.
