Now just imagine a property owner that does not maintain their multiple rental properties through the city, no cap on rent, simple repairs requested and sloppy DIY... One solution would be escrow with the courts and request an inspection. Oh boy did my fighting spirit get a rush. Everything followed by the book until... property owner wasn't too keen on escrow.
-Note: escrow was legitimate court order based on my legitimate code complaints
So I figured just bring it to the higher-ups, problem solved, perhaps a solution would be found. Another dead end. This dynamic is as unjust as can be, because of their pretty phrase "Bare minimum" is the embedded excuse, and it is a widespread issue far beyond Rhode Island.
By no means is this justice, but these type of things carry on right in front of you. A serious "You don't get it until you get it" situation that is more and more common daily.
