This battle isn't that bad... Says who?
No one should ever minimize their personal experiences battling epilepsy. Continuously comparing oneself to others does far more harm than good. Especially when it's a healthier person initiating the minimizing. At the heat of the moment, it may feel good to just sweep things under the rug and say "well somebody's worse than me." A seizure is a seizure, any type or severity. Everyone deserves equal treatment and respect so saying/thinking I'm not worth it since someone else is suffering more is a bad habit to shake but many warriors have the ability to do so.
Type and Assumption
Tonic Clonic (Grand-mal): the most stigmatized portrayal of epilepsy; full body convulsion biting their tongue;
Focal: Still intimidating because the warrior is not recovered from the impairment
Absence: Not seen as alarming due to lack of motion
Quick Aura: Barely recognized due to the short and speed they pass through
Jerks: Not seen alarming since many conditions have similar symptoms.
It might help one cope with their condition at least temporarily is saying "it could be worse" Regardless if your seizure type even if light in comparison to others, it all boils down to the infamous electrical misfires going on in the brain. All types need to be acknowledged and possibly help find the root of the problem such as determining triggers.
