First off, positive reinforcement is giving a desirable stimulus after a behavior. I.e rewards and compliments. It begins with an antecedent, the event or thing that happened before the behavior started. Then there's the behavior in question, and consequences accordingly. Positive is a reward of sorts while negative would be a punishment. Too much positive can backfire and domino to depression. Due to continuous rewarding, people often think too highly of themselves as if perfect; This mixed up with my epilepsy because before being diagnosed I was most proud of myself for being "gifted" as they say.🤓 I'd be tickled pink when I got a good grade. Things shifted when I began to have the seizures. I don't remember things as well. As I started struggling with school, my four letter words were exam, test, and quiz. I'd study as hard as I could. Since I had such anxiety I would easily forget. I know I became very self critical.
