Unaddressed injustices: Legal services, does the free help actually help?

Updated: Jan 26

As with almost anything, the all mighty dollar weasels it's way in. The people on the receiving end of the unfair housing and evictions are caught in a bind, we all deserve a better quality of life but can only live in such conditions as would peasants.

God forbid you ask for repairs and/or general maintenance, they can't wait to push you out in order to save that extra buck. With security landlords having that upper hand and can get better lawyers rather than public service that many evicted tenants may need to use.

I'm not a quiet warrior and plan to get the ball rolling, something must be done. It's not very fair that when you get the public services they're quick to try to settle things without trial. Sometimes that ends up being in bad decision not really thought out. Law is really you get what you pay for if you have a worthy lawyer they will put out the fight when you use pro bono Legal services not so much.

I stay reaching out to whomever may help the cause. Emails, phonecalls, straightout in-person visits. Ever have a city hate you? It's fun to know City Hall recognizes me by face, and must think, not her again. I'm whistle blower in the building. I must fight for what's right, I'm an advocate, technically my job. An empathetic community health worker isn't going to let up. I'll flag you down and share my message.
