Wait, should I tell?

Updated: Oct 26, 2022

Something a lot of people ask themselves is do I tell them? Not just purple warriors, people who are fighting their own battles question whether or not to mention the disability. There's two sides, 1. It's none of anybody's business 2. As precaution, let it be known for overall safety/wellbeing. It's something that can be circumstantial because although a person has no reason to feel ashamed about their disability, there's a fear that mentioning it can change the direction of things. Rather than qualified you can be seen as liability and they are basically waiting for the mishap to happen. The potential mistreatment is of course unwanted and in order to avoid it the person just keeps things to themselves. I myself know due to the frequency of my various types of seizures it's best that I give the heads up. Seizures are sometimes misinterpreted for a drug overdose so I just prefer to cover the bases. If I had a good control on my epilepsy I wouldn't have any need to share it. Since they happen spontaneously I am open about being a warrior. To each is own of course. 💜
